Audi SQ5 gets 349bhp 3.0 litre TSI – but not for the UK

Audi has revealed a petrol-engined version of the SQ5 with a 349bhp 3.0 litre petrol engine, but not for the UK or Europe. But the SQ5 was aimed at markets that ‘got’ the idea of a powerful and sporty diesel.leaving petrolheads in parts of the world where the powerful diesel hasn’t yet struck a chord feeling shortchanged. Nissan developing the self-cleaning car

Motorists may never need to wash their cars again, as Nissan is helping to develop paint that repels mud, rain and dirt. The technology, which Nissan tells us is “super-hyrophobic and oleophobic”, creates a protective layer of air between the paint and the environment, preventing dirt sticking to the car. Nissan Nissan Note already uses self-cleaning technology Called Ultra-Ever Dry, the tech is currently being tested on the Nissan Note, which already features a ‘wash and blow dry’ function on its rear view camera.

Rolls Royce 102EX: Electric Phantom revealed

Electric Rolls Royce Phantom Rolls Royce has taken the wraps of its experimental electric Phantom at  Geneva – Rolls Royce 102EX –  and they certainly haven’t done things by halves. Rolls Royce engineers have taken the regular engine out of the Phantom and replaced it with a pair of electric motors rated at 145 kWh and possibly the biggest lithium-ion battery bank on four wheels. The Phantom EV uses five lithium-cobalt-manganese-oxide (or NCM) pouch cells which form the shape of the engine and live under the bonnet.
