The 2014 VW Polo (pictured) gets a raft of updates If you want a premium feeling supermini, the VW Polo is hard to beat. And with a mid-cycle facelift, new engines and new technology it’s now even more impressive for 2014. Cosmetically, the facelift is a minor one, with tweaked bumpers and grill, new optional LED headlights, a chrome strip between the fog lights, new alloys, new instruments and steering wheel and a tweaked centre console with HVAC controls.

With an ear-splitting V8 roar, Ford unveiled a 50-edition run of the Cobra Jet Mustang, and the F-150 SVT Raptor, a go-anywhere extreme version of the pick-up, which will bounce across sand dunes in the Baja California race later this month before going on sale next year. But tucked away in a corner was a less environmentally destructive F-150, shaped by British engineering firm PML.

The 2013 Ford Fiesta ST will cost from £16,995 when it arrives in Ford’s UK showrooms in March, with an extra £1,000 buying the Fiesta ST2. But now, with the Fiesta ST about to arrive as a three door in UK showrooms (the 5 door Fiesta ST will be sold in the US), Ford has come up with prices and specs for their hot Fiesta. The regular Fiesta ST will get some butch bumpers, a set of 17″ alloys, suspension lowered by 15mm, tinted glass, Recaro seats, DAB and AirCon, and if you want to spoil yourself you can opt for the Fiesta ST2 which adds in LED headlights, keyless start, part leather seats and climate.
