As a long-time Megasquirt user, I got tired of using old, slow laptops because it had to have a 9-pin serial cable to tune my car. The USB to serial adapters are sketchy, and even the SD card capabilities of MS3 is antiquated. Wireless is obviously the best route, but none of the existing options met my requirements.

So in the interest of the DIY community, I made my own. I have ran it for about a year and it runs so well, I've decided to provide the same convenience to everyone!

Upon purchase of this item, you provide me with your the project name and pin number you want to connect to your vehicle. I will program the bluetooth module with your specifications before shipment (generic settings if no specifications are sent).

This chip is designed to be soldered directly to the board, so some soldering skill is required. This board will ship with a 13 page manual complete with pictures to instruct you on how to install with module on both the v2.2, v3.0 and v3.57 boards. There are also instructions on how to connect the module to Tuner Studio, MSDroid and Shadow Dash..

ADVANTAGES OF THIS PRODUCT:

1. Cheaper than the RS232 to Bluetooth adapters
2. Fits inside the case instead of the large alternatives
3. WIRELESS!
4. You choose the name of your project and the pin to pair your device (if requested)
5. A step-by-step installation manual
6. The serial connection is piggybacked instead of replaced, so it is still available for use.
7. No searching all over the internet for pieces of information to do this yourself. I already did it for you!

This is not tested on microsquirt. Unfortunately I cannot accept returns because I cannot verify proper installation or ESD prevention procedures, but I am more than willing to provide as much technical support as you need to get it working. Distance of connections may vary depending on installation location and distances from noise sources. I have mine under my dashboard and I get consistent reads at ten feet. On my passenger seat I get 20 feet. Picture is not the exact chip you will receive. Chip and wire may vary slightly, but all will function exactly the same.

Apple Users:

Unfortunately Apple Ipads and Iphones can only pair to audio devices. It is a limitation of the operating system itself, so there is no way for you to use this device. I do not own an Apple computer, so bluetooth compatibility with them is unknown.
