Jaguar Land Rover to build cars in China

Jaguar Land Rover has revealed it is going to build cars in China, starting with either the Freelander 2 or Evoque. Jaguar Land Rover has revealed that it going to build cars outside the UK for the first time (as opposed to re-assembling Freelander 2 CKD kits as it does in India) in a plant just north of Shanghai. As this is China, official permission from the Chinese government is required, but with the joint venture between Chery and JLR now official its seems unlikely to be a problem as JLR will already have agreed to Chery producing JLR cars with Chery badges on.

If only that car had looked like this all along… Set to go on sale in March 2014 with prices starting from £25,040, the new 2 Series Coupe carries on the trend set by the recent new BMW 4 Series Coupe: it’s odd numbers for the mainstream range and even numbers for their sportier derivatives. Asda sparks new fuel price cuts

SUPERMARKET Asda has sparked a likely petrol price war by announcing further cuts. Asda said that drivers filling up at its forecourts from tomorrow (Wednesday) will pay no more than 126.7p a litre for petrol, with diesel priced at 133.7p. Jeremy Walton, head of petrol trading at Asda, said: "Our shoppers don't have to figure out complicated deals and collect vouchers to get the best price; they simply pay what they see at the pump.
