Securely fastened in a purpose-designed rack in the glove compartment, the Becker MAP PILOT is directly integrated into the vehicle electronics system in the same way as a fixed module, allowing convenient operation through the vehicle control systems. The ergonomic user guide and intuitive operation from the multifunction steering wheel, rotary push-button controller or by spoken commands create an enhanced level of convenience and safety.
Complete integration into the vehicle electronics system, combined with the Mercedes-Benz operating concept, enable all functions and navigation information to be shown on the central display and on the instrument cluster.
Direction recommendations are spoken in superb quality over the vehicle speakers, while radio and music output is automatically turned down.
The innovative slot-in concept allows the Becker MAP PILOT to be simply removed from the glove compartment, connected by USB to a PC or laptop and individually configured.
Just connect up, start Becker Content Manager and access the Web Shop. In a few easy steps, you can purchase, download and install map data and add-on functions.
The Becker MAP PILOT is supplied with the latest map data, including POIs for 44 European countries.
More maps and add-on functions can be quickly and simply purchased as downloads from the Becker MAP PILOT Web Shop and used immediately.
The Becker MAP PILOT meets all the requirements of a modern navigation system.
The route mapping takes account of the current traffic situation (TMC/Premium TMC) and personal route preferences, while 3D displays, a lane assistant and photo-realistic rendering of motorway signs make it easy to find your way around.
Up to 200 destinations, including a convenient “Home” function, can be stored and routes planned with up to ten intermediate destinations. 
With its unique concept, the Becker MAP PILOT will remain updatable for years to come and so keep up to the latest standards. Bad-tempered driving increases over winter
Fri, 03 Jan 2014We’re officially a nation of grumpy drivers – not helped by the bad weather and the end of Christmas festivities, a survey has revealed. Halfords Autocentres carried out a study about how winter affects motorists and found that experiences of impatient, aggressive and inconsiderate driving increase at this time of year. On Bing: see pictures of road rage British drivers ‘lack common courtesy’ Rory Carlin from Halfords Autocentres: “It seems that the festivities take their toll on the nation’s road manners and tempers flare leading to less kindness and unselfish behaviour from some motorists.” 23% of respondents felt that unfriendly and bad tempered behaviour was a major issue during the winter months, while a fifth said there was a rise in aggressive and impatient driving.

The new Hyundai Santa Fe (which isn’t the new ix45) seems a long way on from the boxy, almost utilitarian, current Santa Fe with its take on Hyundai’s Fluidic design mantra, now dubbed ‘Storm’, making the new Santa Fe look a much more premium offering than the current model.
