BMW X4 to launch at New York Auto Show in April

Tue, 31 Dec 2013

BMW X4 to launch at New York Auto Show in April The surprising success of the coupe version of the BMW X5 – the BMW X6 – made it highly probable that BMW would pull a similar trick with the X3 by building a coupe version of their smaller SUV. That probability became a certainty when BMW revealed a the BMW X4 Concept at the Shanghai Motor Show, looking just like an X6 on a boil wash. Although BMW didn’t give any major details about what goes under the X4′s bonnet, it’s safe to assume the X4 will come with a similar engine lineup to the X3, an interior that’s also similar and a price point that’s a bit higher.

Citroën DS Wild Rubis concept

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

The Citroën DS Wild Rubis concept is the French manufacturer's foray into the premium SUV market, to be shown at the Shanghai auto show next Saturday. At 4,700mm long it's slightly larger than a BMW X3 or Audi Q5, with a particularly generous wheelbase of 2,900mm, presumably to offer the rear passengers a little more space - major consideration in China. It was designed in the DS studio in France, something the company is keen to promote given China's desire for chic European luxury goods.

Italian Grand Prix 2012: McLaren lock out the front row.

Sat, 08 Sep 2012

McLaren has locked out the front row for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza with Lewis Hamilton on pole and Jenson Button second. Lewis Hamilton grabbed pole position in Monza this afternoon for McLaren  in qualifying for the 2012 Italian Grand Prix, with a second place for Jenson Button locking out the front row for McLaren. It had looked throughout Q1 and Q2 that it would be Ferrari who were dominant and likely to take pole, but Alonso suffered a rear roll bar problem at the start of Q3 and ended at the bottom in tenth place.
