Car Design News hosted a new webinar with Icona Solutions yesterday, June 8th. Focusing on perceived quality in the digital design world, Icona Solutions' Dr John Maxfield explained how the company's aesthetica software – which enables design teams to gain early insight and resolve fit and finish issues – can improve perceived quality and craftsmanship. Hosted by Dr John Maxfield, Technical Director and Founder of Icona Solutions Ltd, the webinar demonstrates how aesthetica helps designers produce realistic images of real world products, including materials / color / finishes, with targets to allow early perceived quality reviews.

College Exhibition: Strate College Degree Show 2006

Graduating Transportation Design students at France's Strate College displayed their Diploma projects in the school's annual degree show, held at the central Paris school June 23-24. A jury of design managers from major European and international manufacturers including Renault, Citroen, General Motors, Hyundai, DaimlerChrysler and Volkswagen assessed the graduating students' work. The exhibition included work from the schools programs in Transportation Design, Product Design, Luxury Design, Services Design, Graphic Design, Packaging Design and a new three-year program in Modeling.

‘Fire up the Quattro!’ – Gene Hunt’s Audi for sale

IT WAS the only thing that could rival tough-talking DCI Gene Hunt for on-screen presence – and now the famous red Audi Quattro is up for sale. The hit TV show Ashes to Ashes saw Philip Glennister reprise his role as Hunt opposite Keeley Hawes as Alex Drake, but for many it was the iconic 1981 Audi that stole the show. This particular example was bought by a prop supply company for the second and third series of Ashes to Ashes, and featured in all sixteen episodes before meeting a spectacular end by being riddled with bullet holes.
