For sale is a complete, genuine Mercruiser 898 Outdrive (both upper and lower units). (Pre-Alpha). Serial Number 4785545.
The outdrive is in very good condition, with minor scratches and wear (see pictures). It was removed from my boat about 20 years ago ('78-'79 Citation) and has been stored in my garage since then. The boat had a Chevrolet 350 cu. in. engine, and when it died I got rid of the boat but kept the outdrive. The outdrive has a 1.50 gear ratio with a standard (Right) rotation. I believe it will also fit 888 Ford applications (but verify that). It has been separated in two for shipping. Prior to separation, the fluid was clean and no water intrusion or leaks were observed. It shifts smoothly into forward, neutral and reverse. The zinc is like new. Outdrive has the original Mercruiser paint except for a few places on the skeg, and wear spots that were touched up (see pirctures). The skeg has never been damaged. Seller is not an expert and information given is believed to be accurate and correct, however, buyer assumes all responsibility to verify the information and application. The item is sold "as-is" with no warranty. Free local pickup is possible (Hagerstown, MD 21740). Otherwise, I am willing to ship but buyer pays all shipping costs and if desired, insurance costs. The sale is final. No warranty or returns will be accepted. Payment MUST be received within 3 days of close of sale. Outdrive does not include a propeller. Outdrive has been separated into 2 pieces and packed for shipping. First box 31H X 22L X 10W and weighs approximately 45lbs. Second contaner is 28L X 21H X 8W and weighs approximately 50lbs. Shipping method, location, speed, and costs is up to the buyer to determine and pay. Contact the shipper yourself for pricing. Do not use eBay's calculation as I have found it inaccurate for this type of item. Seller will be happy to work with the buyer to make shipping arrangements and delivery to shipper. This outdrive is in really good condition. There not many original Mercruiser's left in this good a condition. This would be perfect for a restoration or a replacement. You won't be disappointed.
