For sale is a very nice complete running drop in marine engine.  This engine was removed from a 1991 boat that had suffered stringer rot.  The cylinder
compression readings are between 170 psi and 180 psi.  Fuel filters, engine oil and filter have been changed.  This engine was run on the test stand for over an hour.

There was no hour meter on the boat in which it was removed

This engine is fitted with a two barrel carburetor

This engine could be used to replace or outfit a boat that previously had a carbureted or fuel injected engine.

Oil pressure, engine temperature, alternator output were all verified within specifications.

The engine will be sold as shown.  Ready to drop in and run.

I will work with buyer to accommodate long range shipping requirements. A custom enclosed crate is included in the price. Pickup at out location is also an option

There may be an additional charge from Freightquote if the engine needs to be delivered at a residential address without a loading dock.

I have many other marine engines available, as well as a warehouse that stocks many other marine components:  Drives, transoms, engine parts, controls, etc.

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 05 June 2014 12:08 Wrapped up in yesterday's announcement about McLaren Automotive breaking into profit for the first time was the news that a new, hardcore McLaren P1 track version will be launched next year. It seems incredible to think that anyone would want an even faster, more focused McLaren P1. But Woking has consulted the 375 owners and found out that their appetite for speed apparently knows no bounds.

Better Place Electric Car visitor centre opens

Tue, 09 Feb 2010

Better Place have opened a visitor centre in Israel to demonstrate their battery swap technology for electric cars Last October we wrote about a start-up company in Israel – Better Place – that had a new way forward for electric cars by taking the purchase of battery packs out of the equation, and was developing a system for ‘Battery Swap’ stations where electric car owners could drive in and swap their battery pack for a fully-charged one in a few minutes. That story first brought to our attention our favourite quote of last year – by Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn – who said “A hybrid is like a mermaid: if you want a fish, you get a woman; if you want a woman, you get a fish.” Which probably explained why Nissan – and its partner Renault – got involved with Better Place. Better Place aims to address the main concerns of electric car drivers by making the battery packs in electric cars ‘swappable’.
