BMW GINA Light Visionary Model concept (2008): first photos and video

The GINA Light Visionary Model – unveiled today – is a far-flung research concept from Munich that has shaped the latest generation of BMWs. This car can change shape and surface at the flick of a switch, and the 'GINA' principles it espouses have been used to craft today's BMW design language.

Ssangyong XIV-1 concept

Ssangyong is the latest car manufacturer to confirm they will be showcasing a new concept car at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show, the XIV-1. The XIV-1 B-segment concept, previously known as the XUV-1, is a crossover concept that underlines the importance of the car's interaction with its driver and passengers, with the vehicle's name coming from the phrase 'eXciting user Interface Vehicle'. Ssangyong will also be premiering the SUT-1 sports utility vehicle, first shown in concept form at the 2011 Geneva motor show and debuting the petrol-powered Korando crossover.

TVR sold to a new British owner, Les Edgar TVR – once the pride of Blackpool – effectively disappeared from the car scene in 2006 when its Russian owner, Nikolai Smolensky, shuttered up TVR just two years after he bought it from Peter Wheeler and last yeare announced there would never be another TVR. But it now seems TVR has been sold to a British businessman, Les Edgar, who has bought the rights to the TVR name and the right to manufacture parts for existing cars. So far, the only evidence of a return is a new splash page on the TVR website (pictured above) which tells us that TVR are ‘Roaring Back’.
