Barclays bids bye-bye to 'Boris Bikes'

BARCLAYS is to end its sponsorship of the so-called Boris Bikes, introduced by London Mayor Boris Johnson to the capital in 2010. The bank's logo has adorned the blue cycles since their introduction three years ago.But Transport for London (TfL) will be forced to look for a new sponsor after Barclays announced plans to discontinue with the deal at the end of its contract in 2015. The bikes were launched amid much fanfare in August 2010, with nearly a million journeys made within the first 10 weeks of the scheme being rolled out.

Chicago tuner breaks 9-second mark with Nissan GT-R

AMS Performance of Chicago, holder of the fastest quarter-mile time in a Nissan GT-R, has set the bar higher with an 8.97-second run at 169 mph. According to AMS, the run also grabbed the fastest 60-to-130-mph time, at 3.34 seconds. The Alpha 12, the shop's flagship performance package, cranks up the GT-R's output to 1,500 hp.

Audi explores new color and trim options

Audi, well known for creating some of the most desired automotive interiors in the business, is looking to push the boundaries of personalization and further increase the levels of quality of interior design in its vehicles. The first vehicle to benefit from this will be the new Q3, revealed at the Shanghai motor show in April.
