Ford engine plant builds number 10 million
Wed, 18 Feb 2009Ford's 90-degree, overhead-cam Modular V8 has covered a wide spectrum since it was introduced in 1991--powering luxury cars, SUVs, pickups and high-performance sports cars. A large number of those engines have come from a Ford plant in Romeo, Mich., which has now built its 10-millionth engine--a 4.6-liter V8 that is headed for a 2010 Mustang GT. The Romeo engine plant was converted from a tractor factory.
Fuel prices 'still number one concern'

More than 70% of the 400-person sample cited fuel prices as the number one concern when it comes to motoring costs, despite reports from the AA that pump prices have actually fallen over the last year. Second place in the survey was taken by the cost of road tax, which reflects that the survey was taken among used car buyers.

The British International Motor Show at London's Excel arena attracted 472,300 people over the past fortnight. Although that's some way off the initial target of 550,000 visitors, it's a healthy rise on the 2006 event, attended by 415,000 people.
