Renault Scenic unveiled at Geneva motor show 2009
Tue, 03 Mar 2009By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 03 March 2009 11:00 Practicality is the name of the game here. The Scenic led the charge into compact MPVs back when the genre was in its infancy – and you can tell how long ago that was by the fact that Renault today launched the third-generation Scenic and Grand Scenic duo. No prizes for guessing they’re closely related to the Megane hatchback family, so much of the hardware is shared.
New Kia Picanto 3-door (2011) arrives
Mon, 15 Aug 2011The new sport Kia Picanto 3-Door The Kia Picanto of old was a dreary little thing, best thought of as disposable motoring flotsam; so cheap you could throw it away when you’d finished with it. But the new Kia Picanto – revealed at Geneva this year - is a different kettle of fish altogether, and now we’re to get treated to a ‘Sporty’ version too – the 3-door Kia Picanto. Already in a different league in the looks department, the 3-door Picanto raises the bar again and is starting to look almost as good as stuff like the Fiat 500 – but from only £7,795.
Kia Recall: 25,000 UK Kias recalled for faulty brake lights
Sat, 01 Jun 2013Kia are recalling 25,000 vehicles in the UK Kia’s research and development checks have uncovered a fault in the brake light switch on a whole raft of Kia cars built between 2006 and 2011, with over 25,000 UK-owned Kias being recalled to have a fix. Models affected are previous model Carens, Sedona, Sorento and Sportage and some of the current Sorento and Soul models as well as a few Optimas (actually, just 2 Optimas). This isn’t a huge problem for owners, but Kia has discovered that carbonisation on the brake light switch contacts can make the switch a bit glitchy, with the possibility the brake lights might not come on at all when the brake pedal is pressed or, if they do come on, they may stay on.
