Montu Motors Torque Controller for Skyline R32, R33, R34 GTR and GTS-4

The main problem with the ATTESA system and accelerometers, is the response time. When taking a turn or taking off from a stop, the accelerometer needs to read the g forces of the car. This has a slight delay because of the older technology of the accelerometers, coupled with the older processors of the ATTESA computer. This causes a noticeable lag in response of the front differential.

This delay can cause the rear end to slide out and requires an abrupt correction, which can be unpredictable. Also, in launching, the car can loose traction before the front wheels get a chance to power the car. Our torque controllers remedy this by setting the front differential torque to a set value. Setting the dial to 0 will allow the rear tires to spin more then the front, but still send sufficient power to the front for cornering. Setting the dial to 10 will make the car 50/50 torque split at all times. The front differential will always be active and thus have maximum traction.

Also for those with a Skyline R32 GTR or GTS-4, there is a RWD option. This will deactivate the AWD system completely. The car will act like a 100% RWD car and the front tires will never be active with the drive train.

Lexus LF-NX crossover concept stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

It seems the wave of crossovers flooding the European car market is showing no signs of subsiding here at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show – this, the Lexus LF-NX crossover concept, is the latest small SUV to join the club. You’d have thought Toyota’s luxury arm would have created an upmarket off-roader to rival the Range Rover Evoque sooner than it has – well finally, Frankfurt 2013 marks the end of that wait.

New Kia Cee’d GT Turbo: First photo arrives

Sat, 09 Feb 2013

We have the first photo of the 5-door Kia Cee’d GT – a Cee’d with the engine from the Hyundai Veloster Turbo – ahead of a 2013 Geneva reveal. We already know that Kia are planning to launch the 3-door Pro_Cee’d GT with the engine from the Veloster Turbo because they’ve told us, and they’ve sent us some details of its specification and photos too. We also know that there will be a 5-door Kia Cee’d GT – with the same Turbo engine – although so far Kia hasn’t sent us details or photos.

2013 Kia Carens price & specification. Costs from £17,895.

Thu, 25 Apr 2013

That’s a subjective call, but the new Carens is a decent looking effort from Kia at a sensible price point with decent equipment levels and offers plenty of family lugging abilities in to the bargain. All Carens models in the UK come with 7 seats and yet is 20mm shorter than the old Carens, But thanks to an extra 50mm in the wheelbase Kia reckons it offers all the space if bigger rivals and, with a flexible configuration for the seating, means the new Carens can accommodate the needs of a mix of load and people carrying with alacrity. The new Carens comes in three trim levels – catchily named 1, 2 and 3 – with 7 seats, cornering lights  LED running lights, electric heated door mirrors, AirCon, electric windows, Cruise, Radio/CD with iPod connectivity and Bluetooth and a rear conversation mirror.
