Ssangyong Motor unveils new Design Center at Pyeongtaek plant

Ssangyong has opened a new Design Center at its Pyeongtaek plant in South Korea. The new Design Center, which took 13 months to complete, has been opened to further integrate research and development into the company during the production process with the aim of "enabling synergies in diverse fields throughout the development process". Ssangyong designers will now be working in a facility spanning around 8,700 square meters compared to their previous building of just over 6,000 square meters in Anseong.

This is the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake. It's the production version of the Shooting Break Concept first shown at the 2010 Beijing auto show. An estate version of the CLS four-door coupe, Merc is hoping to repeat the trick it pulled off when it established the 'coupaloon' market with the original CLS in 2004.

College Exhibition: University of Cincinnati

The University of Cincinnati (UC) Transportation Design Studio displayed two projects over the summer. Sponsored by Acura and DaimlerChrysler, the projects consisted of two ten-week quarters divided by professional practice. The first quarter of the projects involved 2D exterior theme development of a diverse range of crossover vehicles for the year 2015.
