Ford gets the 1965 Mustang ready for the racetrack
Wed, 26 Mar 2014When a pair of 1965 Ford Mustangs served as pace cars for the 1964 Indianapolis 500, the car -- which had made its debut just a few weeks before -- was kicking off an exciting motorsports career that continues to this day. In the April 25, 1964, issue of Competition Press and Autoweek, we shared news (relayed to us by none other than Lee Iacocca) of the Mustang's racing ambitions. At the time, the competition schedule included the Midnight Sun road rally in Sweden, the Alpine rally in France and Spa-Sofia-Liege rally, which ran between Belgium and Yugoslavia.
McLaren MSO reveals MSO 650S Coupe Concept
Mon, 28 Apr 2014The McLaren 650S MSOP Concept (pictured) showcases McLaren’s custom options It’s only a few months since we had a McLaren MSO 12C Concept from McLaren Special Operations (MSO) – Maclaren’s division that titivates cars for a significant wad of cash – to showcase just what MSO can do for the 12C. But with McLaren deciding that the 12C is biting the dust in the face of the new 650S, it’s time to update that concept to one that’s current, hence the arrival of the McLaren MSO 650S Concept. The changes to the 650S by MSO are designed to illustrate what McLaren can do to make your 650S as individual as you are, and the updates included on the concept can be applied to both the Coupe and Spider versions of the 650S and even the 12C.
Tanner Foust jumps a Hot Wheels truck to new record at Indy
Tue, 31 May 2011Before the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, Team Hot Wheels yellow driver and three-time X Games gold medalist Tanner Foust broke the world record for distance jump in a four-wheeled vehicle. Foust dropped 10 stories down a life-size version of the iconic orange toy track and soared 332 feet through the air. Foust then unmasked himself--his identity had been a mystery up to that point, as shown in the teaser video we posted earlier this month.
