Jaguar Land Rover: Tata to double annual investment to £1.5 billion

Tata to double investment in JLR Tata Motors has revealed that it plans to double annual investment in Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) to £1.5 billion. Just last week we reported that Tata Motors’ profits in the last quarter had been driven very much by the resurgence at Jaguar Land Rover, with JLR profits soaring while Tata Motors domestic profits declined. And it looks like Tata are keen to keep that momentum going with the announcement that they are to double annual investment in Jaguar Land Rover to £1.5 billion.

The mysterious 'Zonda F Cinque' - which is actually a Regular Zonda Cinque But we are still to see the Zonda Cinque (which is essentially a tamed-down Zonda R for the road) in the wild, and probably because of that the car sites around the world were full of a mysterious ‘Zonda F Cinque’ that was going to turn up at the Geneva Motor Show. We have pretty good contacts at Pagani, and although we knew that the Pagani coming to Geneva was in fact the Cinque (as well as the Zonda R) we wanted to work out where the rumour came from.

Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 (2010) first details

Peugeot has released details of its new 3008 Hybrid4, the world's first hybrid production car with a diesel engine under the bonnet. So far all car makers dabbling in hybrid technology have plumped for petrol engines, primarily on the grounds of cost and the fact that countries such as the US, Japan and many emerging markets still prefer unleaded to derv.We saw the concept 3008 Hybrid4 in 2009 at the Frankfurt motor show, and now Pug has turned it into reality. The Hybrid4 employs PSA's 2.0-litre oil-burner allied to an electric motor, and offers claimed fuel economy of 74mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g/km, slipping – just – under the 100g/km barrier.
