Art Center Car Classic '10: Rain, rain, drive away

Mark Vaughn Italian car fans got an up-close look at some of their favorites last weekend. A little rain drizzled over the ninth showing of the Art Center Car Classic in Pasadena, Calif., but that only served to weed out the weak. The true car lovers braved the wet and didn't let it dampen their spirits.

Renault Zoe sets new electric car record for distance travelled

The Renault Zoe EV has set a new world record for distance travelled in an electric car in 24 hours – 1005 miles. It seems Renault are determined to prove that an electric car – in this case the Renault Zoe EV – can travel sensible distances in a sensible period of time. So they set out to run a pair of production spec Renault Zoes round the Aubevoye speed ring in Normandy for a full twenty four hours with the aim of breaking the record for distance travelled in an electric car in that time (yes, there’s a world record for everything these days).

Citroen DS3 at 2009 Frankfurt motor show

It is a brave decision by Citroen to revive the DS badge – standing for déesse (or goddess) and first seen on the pioneering 1950s DS. Based on the next C3, the DS3 is the first of a new range of ‘near-premium’ models, which will eventually include posher DS4 and DS5 derivatives based on future C4 and C5 models.
