- 1,6 mm (1/16") thick aluminum, completely welded, not only glued or riveted
- material doubled around bottom and around top for additional strenght
- lid with four loops to fasten additional luggage
- lid with hinges, which makes loosing the lid impossible
- pannier with lift-off-lid available for $15.00 less
- two toggle latches, which can be locked with a small padlock each
- gasket in the lid makes the aluminum box completely waterproof
- all attachment parts (loops, toggle latches, and screws) are made of stainless steel

The Chinese press are reporting that Geely are to buy London Taxi maker Manganese Bronze, which went in to liquidation in October. Back in October we reported that Manganese Bronze – makers of the iconic London Taxi – had gone in to administration, finally tipped over the edge by steering box failures in the TX4. After years of under-investment – and a product that has been usurped by both the Mercedes Vito Taxi and the new Nissan NV200 Taxi – it looked like Manganese Bronze had no way back.
