'Outside the Oval' art exhibition showcases Ford Australia design team's creativity
Wed, 24 Sep 2014Members of Ford's Melbourne design team have created over 30 works of art for a new exhibition. Called Outside the Oval, the event is normally held internally, as an opportunity for the design team to explore creative pursuits that may have previously been limited to their spare time. However, this year it will be opened to the public for the first time, with artworks including sculpture, 2D paintings and digital art.

Mon, 18 Jan 2010The biggest surprise at the 2010 NAIAS was GMC's Granite concept - a design that expands (or rather contracts) the truck/crossover brand's 'professional grade' philosophy to a compact hatchback aimed at urban hipsters and early adopters. Conceived by Frank Saucedo's Advanced Design team in California and then built at GM's Design Center in Detroit, the Granite combines the basic proportions of the Nissan Cube and Scion xB with a military/industrial feel inspired by the current G-Star and Diesel fashion lines. Bill Gates, venture capitalist invest $23.5 million in EcoMotors
Mon, 12 Jul 2010EcoMotors International has received $23.5 million from Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates and investor Vinod Khosla for engineering and testing of its trademarked Opoc engine technology. EcoMotors said in a statement Monday that the investment marks a key advance in commercializing its opposed piston-opposed cylinder engine.
