Geneva Motor Show 2011 - 3rd - 13th March 2011 It would be hard to miss the looming Geneva Motor Show if you have even the slightest interest in cars. So with Geneva almost with us we thought we should drag together all the threads of information from around Cars UK in to one place so you can see what to expect. It’s nice to see we’re getting some proper high-end stuff at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

Nissan boosts electric charging network

NISSAN is accelerating plans for a European-wide Quick Charge (QC) network for electric vehicles by giving away 400 new quick charging stations free of charge. These new points will boost existing networks and give EV customers greater freedom and flexibility by effectively extending the range of their car. Countries across Europe have been asked to pitch for a charging network and the best ‘bids’ will win an allocation of chargers.

Range Rover Evoque about to go in to production in China It’s been clear Jaguar Land Rover intend to build cars in China – a huge market for Jaguar Land Rover – for some time, but now, with a new factory about to open near Shanghai, that’s about to become a reality. JLR’s new plant in China is in Changhsu and is a joint venture with JLR’s China partner – Chery Automobile – where Chery will be producing JLR cars with a Chery badge on the bonnet. The new plant is due to open in October – with production starting soon after – and as well as producing Chery cars for China JLR will also be building the Range Rover Evoque – JLR’s biggest seller in China – for the local market.
