Run a Class with a Rev Limiter Chip Rule? Get Your Rev Limiter Blueprinted & Get 200 rpm Back!

If your racing an HEI setup with an attached rev limiter your giving up at least 150 rpm while leaning on the limiter. And if you typically run in a field that is easily covered by a tenth of a second or less then you want to get that rev limiter blue printed to get access to ALL the allowable rpm by the One percent rule. To achieve the results needed, adjustments to the Rev Limiter circuit can be performed to get it into the very top end of the allowed One percent margin mandated by many sanctioning bodies. If your driver likes to lean on the Rev limiter during the race, it will allow them to get back an avg. of 200 or more useable rpm. It also raises the starting point of when the Rev Limiter circuit starts to kick in; most racers don’t realize that the Rev Limiter circuit starts in 175 rpm lower than the RPM marked on the Rev chip. Another issue not commonly known, most current chips are running at least 109 rpm lower than the number marked on the Rev chip. So as a racer your giving up a lot of top end usable engine rpm during a race due to tolerances being to loose. If you’re running a class that is very tight, then consider having your rev limiter box MSD®Ignition model #8728 given the winning treatment.  Thank you for looking at our auction. Rare foreign cars head to Carlisle this weekend

Thu, 15 May 2014

Every spring, Carlisle, Pa., (otherwise known as the Woodstock of the classic-car hobby, a title it now fully shares with Hershey) hosts a weekend event just for foreign cars. Last year, over 1,000 cars gathered in central Pennsylvania, with rare foreign machinery making its way from all over the lower 50 and parts of Canada. The longest-traveled cars we spotted last year wore British Columbia plates, which should give you a clue as to the event's following, though we're still unsure which cars we spent the longest time gawking at.

One Lap of the Web: Senna's sweet go-kart

Fri, 16 May 2014

-- Gran Turismo has always included some, uh, unique car choices for its video games. (Sure, the Patent-Motorwagen is significant, but hot-lapping the 1-hp horseless carriage in "Gran Turismo 4" wasn't exactly riveting, unless you used cheats.) So that's why Ayrton Senna's go-kart from the 1978 World Karting Championship should be interesting -- it's nowhere near as fast as his Lotus 97T, but it shows that "Gran Turismo" wasn't kidding when developers said they wanted fans to chart the entirety of Senna's life. Plus, if you make it go 352 mph you can finally stick it to Prost.
