Porsche has injected a little more flair into its SUV with the debut of the Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3. Following the Cayman S and Boxster S Design Editions, the Cayenne receives a thorough visual makeover from the Porsche Design Studio. Designers began by covering the Cayenne’s sheetmetal with lava grey metallic paint with three design stripes down the center of the hood and one stripe along the lower door panels.

The BMW EfficientDynamics is set for production in 2013
Probably the biggest show stopper at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show was the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept, which offered a diesel hybrid setup withn two electric motors, M3 levels of performance and low emissions with 75mpg. In essence, a BMW M1 for the Eco generation. Since BMW revealed their Vision ED other premium car makers have joined the eco-supercar game and announced production of what amount to high-performance hybrids and/or electric cars. Mercedes has confirmed they are working on an SLS AMG E-Cell, with a working prototype already running around.

Jaguar has unveiled the new 2014 F-type Coupe - the spiritual successor to the fabled Jag E-type - at a star-studded event on the eve of the Los Angeles Motor Show 2013. And the closed-top F-type coupe came with a surprise: there will be a high-performance F-type Coupe R model available at launch, boasting a Porsche-baiting 550hp. This makes it the fastest F-type to date, dispatching the benchmark 0-60mph drag race in a blistering 4.0sec.
