LONGTAILS have been the low cost alternative to thousands of boaters in the Far East for years. They are used by commercial fisherman and hunters and are well known for travel in shallow, and muddy waters.
More recently, American duck hunters have discovered they are ideal for powering LAYOUT & SNEAK BOATS into shallow areas, and they leave a low overall profile.
The Chinese have developed huge commercial tourist attractions as these simple motors have been strapped to the ancient style bamboo river rafts, fitted with seating so folks can enjoy the sights of the many rivers as the wind through the countryside. These rafts have now evolved and plastic sewer pipes are used to make the rafts, making a cheap and reliable mode of transport.

Ford Iosis X concept
Tue, 03 Oct 2006With an abundance of small SUVs entering the European market, Ford has been conspicuously absent from this segment, something that the Iosis X will hope to quell. Using the same 'kinetic design' theme as the Iosis concept from last year, the Iosis X puts a coupe-like window graphic and roofline upon thick sills, similar in this respect to the Opel Antara concept. But while Opel will have their model on the road imminently, those wanting the Ford equivalent will have to wait until early 2008 for the forms to be toned down and put in showrooms.
Honda EV-Ster
Thu, 01 Dec 2011One of Honda's many debutants at Tokyo 2011 was the EV-Ster concept. The tiny two-seat roadster boasts an electric rear-wheel drive layout beneath the ‘dynamic and innovative' exterior styling. The heavily defined flanks and short over-hangs give the EV-Ster a sporting stance, the extensive use of carbon composites further confirming this, whilst the DRG boasts the familiar alternate energy family graphics.
Lexus LF-NX SUV – has the production LF-NX been accidentally revealed?
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Is this the production version of the Lexus LF-NX? We got the reveal of the Lexus LF-NX Concept – a mid-sized SUV/Crossover, designed to slot in below the Lexus RX – at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September, and it turned up again in November at the Tokyo Motor Show. Two showings in as many months made it all but certain the LF-NX was heading for production, and the accidental reveal of what looks like a production version of the LF-NX at the Society of Automotive Analysts Conference ahead of the Detroit Auto Show during a speech by Toyota’s Jim Lentz seems to confirm the LF-NX’s imminent arrival.
