This is a singular and remarkably rare and unmatched opportunity to acquire a brand new, unopened, never installed, Original Navico/Simrad AXIS 150, 200 & 250 GMDSS VHF CRC1 Commerical Rapid Charger.  The Navico/Simrad CRC1 was discontinued by Navico/Simrad and has been out of production and unavailable at any price for more than a decade.  The CRC1 represents the fastest and most efficient method for the Rapid Recharging of the highly regarded and well respected Simrad Axis 150, 200 & 250 (GMDSS) Handheld VHF Radios.

This particular CRC1 unit, was originally acquired as a secondary back up aboard a Nautor Swan 56, competing in the 2004 Newport-Bermuda Race.  It was never installed for the Race and has remained in secure, dry storage, in the original unopened Navico/Simrad packaging, since 2004.

The CRC1 is a high quality Commercial Charging Station, specifically designed for the Navico/Simrad Axis Series Handheld VHF (GMDSS & Standard).  There is a Rapid Charging pocket for the Axis VHF at the front of the unit and a separate Charge Maintenance rear pocket, which will supply a holding charge to a spare battery pack.

The front panel includes a Charging Status Display, which will show charging status of the battery packs.  The CRC1 will simultaneously charge an Axis 150, 200 or 250 Handheld VHF and a spare battery pack.  When Rapid Charging is complete, a maintenance holding charge is continuously supplied.

The CRC1 Commerical Rapid Recharger has an integral Mains Adapter, accepting both Mains AC (115v) and low-voltage DC (15v-30v) power supplies. Bertone BAT 11

Mon, 10 Mar 2008

By Guy Bird Motor Shows 10 March 2008 11:43 What’s new on Bertone’s Geneva Motor Show stand? Italian coachbuilder Bertone might be in deep financial trouble – it didn’t have a stand at the Geneva show – but its styling division, Stile Bertone, revealed an incredible one-off car on the night of the first press day instead at Auto Design Night, a special event for car designers held at city centre night club La SIP. The stunningly streamlined BAT 11 doesn’t take its odd name from the bat-like rear wings, but because BAT stands for ‘Berlinetta Aerodinamica Tecnica’ in Italian, the ‘11’ indicating that it is the fourth in a series of one-off Bertone designs for Alfa Romeo following on from the BAT 5, 7 and 9 from the mid-1950s.

New Hyundai Test Centre at the Nurburgring revealed

Sun, 02 Jun 2013

Hyundai’s new test centre at the Nurburgring If anyone had said, just a few years ago, that Hyundai would develop a test centre at the Nurburgring to help shake-down their cars, they’d have been laughed at. But Hyundai – and Kia – have come so far in recent years that it makes absolute sense for them to develop a full-time testing facility at the Nurburgring to test their cars for the road, along with just about every other car maker of note. James May may object to the Nurburgring factor in the suspension set-ups of many road cars (and we do have some sympathy for his point of view), but the sometimes extreme nature of the Nurburgring’s surfaces – and its endless twists and turns, uphill and down – do offer car makers an easily accessible place to test cars in the (almost) real world.
