Concept Car of the Week: Ford 021C (1999)
Fri, 12 Sep 2014As Australian-born designer Marc Newson this week joined Apple, we can only wish that he brings with him the same smart-yet-playful approach as he did with his radical Ford 021C concept. Presented at the 1999 Tokyo Motor Show, the project began when Marc Newson was commissioned by Ford global design director, J Mays, to create an innovative interior. Their mutual passion for design and their enthusiasm led to a much larger project and Newson eventually delivered a complete working prototype.
BMW Concept X6 (2007): first official pictures
Tue, 11 Sep 2007By Phil McNamara First Official Pictures 11 September 2007 08:00 BMW X6: the lowdown No, X6 is not a typo but the third X model in the BMW’s 4x4 range. BMW kicked off the Frankfurt show today (Tuesday 11 September) by unveiling two coupes spun off existing models. The 1-series coupe is a two-door notchback version of the baby BMW, but the X6 – an X5 SUV with a melted rear end – was the show-stopper.
McLaren 12C Spider: Official
Tue, 03 Jul 2012After a tease last week McLaren Automotive has revealed the convertible MP4-12C – the McLaren 12C Spider. We did think there was a chance McLaren would try to steal Ferrari’s thunder by revealing the convertible version of the MP4-12C at Goodwood this last weekend, but they didn’t. But today the McLaren 12C Spider (not the MP4-12C Spider) is officially revealed, and by the look of it no one will be buying the MP4-12C any more.
