Hi, up for sale is a new genuine Ford 2.3 Turbo block from the mid to late 80's.  I purchased it for use in a boat project from a local enthusiast, but no longer need it.

This block would be the perfect starting point for a hot, from the ground up, 2.3 turbo engine build.  It was also inspected by a local machine shop who said the crankshaft line boring was perfect.

The previous owner painted it.  It's actually a pretty nice paint job, with just a little bit of overspray on the front and back.  This overspray can easily be removed with paint stripper.  The previous owner also installed bolts in all of the holes before painting which is nice.

This block was plateau honed at the factory.  This honing process considerably reduces break-in time and wear on the engine.

It has one little flaw.  About half of one of the mounting holes on the back is broken off.  Sorry, I didn't get a good picture of it.  I can post up a picture of it if needed.  I've been told that this will have virtually no effect, and that the V8s use the same bolt pattern, which means it should still be more than strong enough for a 4-cylinder, even a highly modified one.  It is a non-threaded hole, and a little more than half of it is still there, so it will hold a bolt just fine.  Perhaps it can be repaired if needed?  I don't know.

Buyer to pay for and make all shipping arrangements, but I'll wrap it in thick plastic, strap it to a pallet, and deliver to a local shipping company.

2011 Chevy Camaro Convertible revealed

Tue, 16 Nov 2010

The 2011 Chevy Camaro Convertible - V8 only in the UK It’s been a few years in the making, but Chevrolet has finally taken the wraps off the convertible version of the latest  Chevy Camaro ahead of its debut at the LA Motor Show next week. The Chevrolet Camaro Convertible – although no one will call it anything other than the Camaro Convertible, or maybe Chevy Camaro Convertible – goes in to production in January and will arrive in the UK and Europe in 2011. GM claim that the work they’ve done to make the Camaro work as a soft top has resulted in a  car that has better torisonal rigidity than a 3-Series Covertible, thanks to stuff like a tower-to-tower brace under the hood, a transmission support reinforcement brace.

Future products: Honda aims to build on momentum surrounding the Odyssey

Fri, 01 Oct 2010

Honda has run into a few problems with its new-vehicle introductions of late. The current Accord was a bit too large in this era of downsizing, the Accord Crosstour was knocked for its styling, and the Insight hybrid suffered disappointing sales. Things may have changed, though.

Audi lightly updates 2011 TT, adds power boost

Audi's nifty two-door TT gets a light update for 2011, with a bit more power under hood and some minor modifications inside and out. The spotlight change is to the engine. The 2.0-liter TFSI is bolstered to 211 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque thanks to Audi's valvelift system, which also improves efficiency.
