Video: BMW on its haptic technology design

BMW has released a video revealing the intense work that goes into developing its haptic technology. Haptics – the way something feels – provide important feedback to drivers, making it essential to develop high-quality technology. To ensure this happens the Haptics team is involved from the start of the design process to maintain the high standards BMW is known for.

'Grand Bentley' preview (Video)

Bentley is teasing us with a preview video of its forthcoming 'Grand Bentley', which shows only sections of the car's flowing shoulder, hood and grille. The all-new new car, which will debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance this summer, is claimed to be 'exceptional in all respects on the road' as well as 'the purest expression of the Bentley spirit'. It has been designed, engineered and built in Crewe, England and will be the replacement for the aging Arnage.

2009 EyesOn Design Awards

The winners at the fourth annual EyesOn Design Awards held at the 2009 NAIAS in Detroit last week read like a serving of alphabet soup, with the top awards going to Audi, BMW and Cadillac. Presided over by 20 top design executives from automotive manufacturers and by academics from transportation design programs, the EyesOn Design awards are presented by the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology (DIO) - an internationally recognized non-profit organization known for helping the blind and visually impaired. Founding Chairman Tom Gale (former Vice President of Design at Chrysler) selected the following people to head up this year's jury: Chris Bangle, Director of Group Design for BMW; William 'Willie' G.
