Production of the Aston Martin Cygnet begins in just a few months' time, and the sports car company has announced two special editions to celebrate the launch of its new city car. According to Aston Martin, the Cygnet Launch Edition White and Cygnet Launch Edition Black are being built to ‘exemplify the highly bespoke nature of this unique car.’ Are we alone in spotting the irony of building a run of identical vehicles to highlight the customisable nature of the Cygnet? The Cygnet Launch Edition White is supposed to be about serenity, with Snow White paint, white diamond-turned alloy wheels, and white Aston badges on the outside, and white leather on the inside.

It had been expected to hit a new record of nearly £8 million. The new Infiniti DX is to be built in Europe by Magna Steyr It’s reported that Canadian-Austrian specialists Magna Steyr will build the new Infiniti DX Etherea from Mercedes A-Class components. It looks like the plans by Infiniti to build a production model of the Etherea Concept from this year’s Geneva Motor Show are pushing ahead, with reports that Magna Steyr – the Canadian Austrian specialist car builders – tasked with putting together what we expect to be the Infiniti DX. The DX is Infiniti’s big gun in its aim to take 10 per cent of global luxury car sales by 2016.
