Building a Model A highboy on 1932 Ford frame rails is one of the all-time classic street rod recipes, but it traditionally took a bit of surgery to mate the two. Speedway Motors makes the job much easier with the Model A Plus Perimeter Frame.
This frame is built with 1932-style rails that are contoured to fit a Model A's body. The tops of the frame rails are flat so there's no cowl surgery required, and the rears are stepped in to allow for a clean fit to the body. The frame accepts Speedway's tube or beam axle Model A front suspension packages and is designed to use the triangulated four-link rear suspension.
1928-1929 design to ensure this frame will bolt up exactly as it should. Ships truck freight. You must contact us for shipping quotes before purchasing. Please do not make payment until we have added the agreed upon shipping charges to your order! |

These frames are for unmodified 1928-1929 Ford Model A bodies or 1930-1931 Ford Model A bodies and use 1932 Ford frame rails. The chassis is NOT intended for using either Model A or 1932 fenders or running boards, though. It is intended for a "highboy" type of car (open-wheel).

Relatives of older drivers urged to help them ‘hang up their keys’
Thu, 24 Oct 2013OLDER DRIVERS whose driving style may have changed or are less able behind the wheel should be aided by relatives in deciding when to hang up their keys, according to an industry expert. Professor Andrew Parks, a chief scientist at the Transport Research Laboratory, warns in a new video interview that older drivers can be very defensive about their driving standards and react badly to any criticism of it. "I know this from my own experience, as I was recently on a car journey driven by my father, the first for 10 years,” he explaned.
Alfa Romeo 4C UK debut at 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed
Mon, 03 Jun 2013The launch Edition of the Alfa Romeo 4C (pictured) will be in action at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. We had the launch – finally – of the production version of the Alfa Romeo 4C at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and now visitors to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July will get the chance to see the 4C in action as it makes its UK ‘Dynamic’ debut. Weighing in at under 1000kg, the 4C is a hugely promising sports car from Alfa, which seems to offer all you want from an Alfa including decent performance from the 1750cc four cylinder turbo from the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde, which promises 0-62mph in around 4.5 seconds Alfa are actually bringing the Launch Edition of the 4C to Goodwood for visitors to lust over, which gets extra tweaks including a carbon fibre body kit.
Ford Focus RS WRC Edition – Swiss made
Sat, 06 Feb 2010Ford in Switzerland are producing juts 50 Ford Focus RS WRC Edition Only a few days ago we reported on the latest Focus RS – the Focus RS Clubsport. Ford are planning to build 500 RS Clubsports as a farewell to the current version of the fast Focus. And it sounds like a hoot, with an extra 50bhp and less weight it will probably break the 5.0 second 0-60mph barrier.
