The weight was the most relevant factor in the development process of the Carbon: the outer shell made in carbon provides an ultra-light helmet of only 1200 grams, without sacrificing impact quality and guaranteeing the highest safety standards and comfort levels for riders.
Contributing to the superior performance and comfort of the XR1.R series is another advanced feature showcasing the latest technology in rider apparel: the CoolMax fabric lining the helmet interior is a super-fresh and soft tissue that provides excellent control of the inner helmet temperature.
Alongside these technology advances, night riding is also a privileged factor in this model: reflectors in the front side, lateral, and backside of the helmet provide extra visibility and higher safety when night riding.
In addition, Carbon includes a removable Breath Guard (easy usage and cleaning) and all the latest technical features of the XR1.R models as the anti-noise cheek pads and the revolutionary Ergo Padding System kit that comes with every single helmet, allowing the rider to adjust the fit of the helmet based on the shape of his/her head, or half-size the helmet by adding extra pads.
Supreme Visor Performance
Optically advanced, XR1.R Carbon offers the ultimate outward vision field: 225º horizontal view and 72º vertical view, well above the standard industry values of 210º and 52º. The PC Lexan Shield from G.E. is anti-scratch and fits an easy locking system for quick installation and removal. Carbon is also Pinlock ready.
NEXX helmets offer the widest peripheral vision in the business, a key factor whether you’re in daily traffic or striving for faster lap times on track. A wider eye port reduces a rider’s risk of crashing by detecting the presence of vehicles and objects and by decreasing head rotation. At the same time, much better peripheral vision offers an increased feeling of openness inside the helmet, giving a sense of freedom.
The NEXX Shield System
All NEXX shields are made of incredibly strong special polycarbonate, produced by an injection molding process, which guarantees clear and distortion-free vision. The visors protect the rider from wind, dirt, insects, small stones and UV radiation. Furthermore, its coating prevents scratches and let water drain off more easily.
That is why most NEXX helmets, including the XR1.R series, are equipped with shields. Aerodynamically advanced, the 3D shapes of the visors smoothly follow the curves of the outer shell, excelling optical properties. Most NEXX systems allow the shield to be changed quickly and easily without needing any tools.
Ergo Padding System with CoolMax
Along a 3-size outer shell, the exclusive internal fitting system is used in XR1.R Carbon with the Ergo Padding System, a foam replacement kit that allows the rider to personalize the helmet according to his or her head shape.
The interior lining and cheek pads incorporate added performance CoolMax fabrics that keep the interior cool, dry and comfortable--and the lining and cheek pads are totally removable, washable and anti-allergenic. The cheek pads provide adjustable Anti Noise System protection on the ears.
Air Dynamic System
The Air Dynamic System (ADS), with two sharp designed inlets and four outlet air vents integrated with the shell, performs ideal ventilation, controlling temperature and humidity for comfortable riding in any type of weather.
