VQ35 Oil Consumption I bought an ’03 Pathfinder in 2008 with the VQ35 engine. It had 87,000 miles on it. To make sure it was prepared for a life with me, I performed all the periodic maintenance. I didn't want to assume that it was treated kindly. The first thing that stunned me was the reports of power valve screws being ingested and causing damage. While reading that material, I came across posts talking about high oil consumption. The truck I bought was low on oil when I inspected it. Now I began to wonder if this might be a problem with my vehicle. Hmmm, high quality import?? Now I understand that lots of folks are having oil consumption problem with the VQ35, regardless of vehicle. Wed, 05 Dec 2012Zora-Arkus Duntov, the first chief engineer for the Chevrolet Corvette, is among 10 people who will be added to the Bloomington Gold Corvettes USA's Great Hall next summer. The Great Hall is a form of hall of fame started by Bloomington Gold, an annual Corvette restoration and car show event that rewards cars for being maintained in original or factory-correct condition. The event is held in late June.
