"New Old Stock 1970 Chevy Chevelle Camaro Nova & El Camino Delco AM Radio"

This is a really nice and fully functional NOS GM Delco Green illumination AM radio for the 1970 Chevy Z28 & SS Camaro, SS Chevelle, El Camino, and Nova including SS and Yenco models and the Impala. I located this radio in a GM dealership. It was in the original GM box pictured. It had a tag with it inidicating it was never sold or used. This model features the green illumination. This radio was GM RPO option code U63 and was at that time a pricey $61.10 upgrade radio system option for the 1970 Chevrolet Camaro, Chevelle, Monte Carlo, El Camino, Nova, Ect. The radio was briefly checked. The volume and bass/treble work really well and sound great. The tuning controls work smoothly left and right. The original station window looks super. The manual tuner needle is bright orange/red color and not faded. The radio metal case is also in great shape. The original black tape across the top and model decal on the side are still there are pictured and in very good condition. The background light bulb works perfectly. The dial illuminates green whenever the headlights are turned on to match the color of the gauges. Cosmetically the stereo looks outstanding and is in 100% working condition.  It can be easily installed into a show car. The face is in excellent condition as well, with the black switches still shiny without any damage. The lens font is crisp and white and looks great. I have tested the radio and it works very well as it picks up stations on many AM frequencies. This radio has a different style of connector but depicts the correct appearance and can be used in the 1969 models also. The radio would be a great original item to install in your 1970 classic muscle car or cruiser restoration. The face measurements are 6 1/4" shaft to shaft, the face is approximately 4" wide, and 2" high. The green lettering is correct for 1969 and 70 models. It is a correct original GM Delco unit. These older Delco GM pushbutton radios are very hard to find in this nice condition, so if you are looking to convert back to a factory Delco GM radio setup then here's your chance to grab a really nice quality NOS radio.

PAYMENT and SHIPPING:  Most of my items are shipped USPS within three days or less in most cases of recieving payment.  Because of the rare nature of many of these parts, I dedicate additional time and materials packaging these items to prevent damage during shipping. It is your money, and I do not just toss them in a box and call it good enough. In addition to "Paypal", I will accept most other forms of payment. Personal checks will be held a few days to clear. Shipping/Handling within the United States will be 26.95. This is not a generic auction, the item you see as pictured is the item you will recieve. This is a 40+ year old item and sold as is.  I am a retired USAF aircraft maintenance superintendent and enjoy this as a hobby in my spare time rather than a business.  Please ask questions, and I will reply as soon as possible. Thank you for looking and good luck.

Volkswagen to buy Giorgetto Giugiaro’s Italdesign?

Thu, 20 May 2010

The Morris Ital - one of Morris Ital by Giorgetto Giugiaro's greatest (sort of) It’s probably a fair bet – or at least was and has been for some time – that Volkswagen would be in the frame to buy an motoring asset that comes on the market. Especially if that asset is in trouble and an iconic name can be grabbed for a song – or less. Which explains why the names of VW and Giugiaro’s Italdesign are being linked together as the Italian designer appears to seek a car maker to rescue it from the woes of being an independent in these rather troubled times.

Jaguar Land Rover build the millionth car at Halewood – a Range Rover Evoque

The millionth car produced at Halewood – a Range Rover evoque The Jaguar Land Rover Plant in Halawood was once best know for churning out the now defunct Jaguar X-Type – which it did until the X-Type was pensioned off in 2009 – but more recently its become home to the Land Rover Freelander 2 and the new Range Rover Evoque. And with sales of the Evoque still powering forward it’s no surprise the the millionth car to come off the production  line at Halewood this week is an Evoque. In fact, it’s a white Range Rover Evoque Dynamic with a Fuji White paint job, ebony alloys, Firenze Red roof and mirrors and red and black interior which is being donated to Cancer Research UK.

Aston Martin US dealers could lose DB9 & Vantage – which could see many shutting up shop

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster (pictured) might not make the US The rules and regulations car makers have to conform to are both enormous and onerous, and different markets have different regulations. And it looks like new side impact regulation could scupper AML’s sales in the US. New side impact rules – due to come in to force in the US in September – means that two of Aston Martin’s big sellers – the DB9 and Vantage V8 and V12 – would have to be withdrawn from sale in the US as they won’t comply.
