Some hybrids are not a green as they seem, interest group says

Car buyers who think they are helping the planet by choosing a hybrid vehicle to aid in cutting emissions don't always get the biggest bang for their buck, according to an environmental interest group. A report from the Union of Concerned Scientists shows that some hybrids come at a much higher price tag than their similarly equipped, conventional-powertrain counterparts, yet offer little in the way of environmental gain. These not-so-green hybrids compromise their value or eco-friendliness in a variety of ways.

The Audi A3 family has another America-bound variant: the automaker announced at the New York auto show that a diesel-powered Audi A3 Sportback TDI will go on sale here in 2015. Infiniti has just released photos of its highly anticipated Q30 Concept, which will be shown to the public at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show. Even though it may be hard to tell from the photos and sketches which size category this concept car belongs in, the Q30 moniker places this car in a rather compact segment. Designing the Q30, Infiniti says it has tried to blend the features of a coupe, a hatch, and a crossover.
