Enthusiast 3D prints an Aston Martin DB4
Thu, 01 Aug 2013New Zealand enthusiast Ivan Sentch is in the process of 3D printing a 1961 Aston Martin DB4. Engadget reports that he bought a $499 Solidoodle 3D printer and has been working on this project since December 2012. Using a Nissan Skyline as a donor car, he'll make a fiberglass mold of the print and hopefully transform this thing into a drivable, street-legal car for a fraction of the cost of an authentic DB4.
2013 Aston Martin Vanquish UK Tour
Tue, 11 Sep 2012Aston Martin have embarked on a tour of its UK dealers with the new Vanquish to show its latest supercar to both dealers and customers. The new Aston Martin Vanquish – successor to the DBS and first shown at Villa D’Este earlier this years as the AM 310 – was revealed back in June. But with a public debut at the Paris Motor Show in just a few week’s time, Aston Martin has been ramping up the PR for the new Vanquish with new photos and new video in the last week, and now they’re off to show the Vanquish to dealers and the Aston Martin faithful alike.
BMW Active Tourer to debut at Geneva 2014 as BMW 2 Series GT
Thu, 05 Dec 2013The BMW Concept Active Tourer will arrive as the BMW 2 Series GT BMW’s new platform for the new MINI isn’t just about providing a front wheel drive platform for MINI, but it will also be put to use in a new range of BMW FWD vehicles. That was previewed by the BMW Active Tourer Concept at the Paris Motor Show in 2012 (and again with the Active Tourer Outdoor Concept in the summer) and now the Active Tourer is heading in to production as the BMW 2 Series GT. The new 2 Series GT is the BMW answer to the Mercedes B Class, a compact MPV designed for moving people and their stuff around town, and Auto Express have learnt it will arrive at a Motor Show ‘Early in 2014′ (which we assume will be Geneva in March) as a production model ahead of a launch later in 2014.
