Mustangs rule at Fabulous Fords Forever

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Mustangs ruled the day at the 29th annual Fabulous Fords Forever car show. “This is the Mustang year,” said Fabulous board member Marc Bodrie. “From 12 months ago, we knew we were going to center this show on 50 years of Mustang.” You could argue that every year is a Mustang year at FFF, with the storied two-door often making up more than half the entries.

Porsche 911 Safari SUV Crossover heading for Beijing Motor Show

Thu, 26 Dec 2013

Porsche 911 Safari SUV Crossover heading for Beijing Motor Show Porsche anoraks bemoaned the arrival of the Porsche Cayenne SUV as a sacrilege, but its overwhelming success has allowed Porsche to garner huge profits and plough a chunk of those in to keeping the iconic 911 relevant, appealing and cutting-edge. It’s also allowed Porsche to take the Audi Q5 and turn it in to what appears to be a hugely capable and appealing baby Cayenne in the guise of the new Porsche Macan, but it seems Porsche is planning another SUV step with a model that really does seem a  step too far – a Porsche 911 SUV. Auto Bild’s Motor Revue is reporting that a Porsche 911 Safarai is heading for the Beijing Motor Show in April 2014 sporting bigger wheels and tyres and a raised suspension to deliver a 911 Crossover.

Rearview cameras may become mandatory

Fri, 02 Mar 2012

Auto safety regulators have taken the decision to submit a final rule to Congress after figures emerged from non-profit group KidsandCars.org that stated that two children die and about 50 are injured every week when someone accidentally backs over them in a vehicle. In one quite shocking public-service announcement KidsAndCars.org showed that 62 children could fit behind a large SUV without being visible to the driver in any of the mirrors.
