NOS New Old Stock R8345TK  .020  Michigan Rod Bearings  - Cadillac - see below -  8 cylinder

Another oldie but goodie - on box is Michigan Engine Bearings -  For Use In Remanufacturers Assemblies Only -  R8345TK .020 Cadillac 8 Pr. Rod Bearings, D.A.B. Industries, Inc. Detroit, Michigan 48211 Made in U.S.A.  Box is torn and a little dirty; bearings are in sealed package (see photo).

Info from Michigan Master Catalog A-82 (dated 1982) for 8345TK:

  • Cadillac 8 cylinder 368 - 3.800x4.060 - 1980-81
  • Cadillac 8 cylinder 425 - 4.082x4.060 - 1977-79
  • Cadillac 8 cylinder 472 - 4.300x4.080 - 1968-74
  • Cadillac 8 cylinder 500 - 4.300x4.300 - 1970-76

Since book is dated 1982 may possibly be for other years: Note: Michigan 77 Engine Bearing Book (dated 1988) shows CB542P as Michigan 77 part number, and years for 368 goes up to 1984. There also was a note in Michigan Master Catalog dated 1986 - for 8345TK, when depleted use 7340 ACAP, so 8345 was part number before 7340. I can give you specific diameter, length, etc., for each one if you need it.

Please verify with your sources that this is the right part number for your model and year car.

Jaguar XKR-S plays out at Goodwood ahead of FoS (Video)

Sun, 19 Jun 2011

Jaguar XKR-S - playing at Goodwood ahead of the FoS It’s really quite hard to put the new Jaguar XKR-S in a pigeon hole. You see, it’s not really an out and out supercar – and it doesn’t sport the price tag of one either – but it’s more than just a competent GT car; better than ‘just’ a continent-crusher. In fact, as we’ve already noted, it seems to have the measure of the Aston Martin DBS – but at half the price.

Fiat 500L

Thu, 02 Feb 2012

Fiat has released official images of its new 500L ahead of its Geneva motor show debut. The L – short for large – is a new, five-seat B/C-segment MPV that is set to go on sale late 2012. Despite carrying the 500 moniker, the lower half of the car bears more resemblance to the Panda, thanks to its exaggerated fender surfaces and 'squircular' body mouldings.

James Bond car chases – 50 years in 2 compilation videos

Fri, 14 Sep 2012

With the James Bond film franchise celebrating 50 years, we have two videos of Bond car chases to enjoy. For those of us who grew up with Sean Connery and Aston Martin as the Bond ingredients that matter, nothing is better than James Bond in an Aston Martin DB5. But there have been many other Bonds in the 50 year history of the Bond franchise – from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig by way of Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, George Lazenby and Pierce Brosnan – and even more cars, from BMW to Lotus by way of Toyota and Sunbeam.
