With the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe about to go on sale (October 15th) we have new UK photos and video and full Santa Fe details. So with the new Santa Fe about to go on sale we though we’d update the details and publish new photos and video for the UK (although there are no swooning beauties in the UK Santa Fe Video – unlike the Dutch one). Hyundai say that their aim with the new Santa Fe was to build on the existing package (which, let’s face it, was a cheap alternative to the offerings from the likes of BMW, Land Rover et al) but add in better looks, better technology and lower running costs.

The Audi R8 LMX (pictured) is the first production car with laser lights The new Audi R8 LMX is actually the most powerful R8 road car Audi has produced, but they seem keener you know that it has laser beam headlights. But that’s because they’ve beaten BMW to the punch on the laser front. As a run-out version of the current R8, the R8 LMX has a lot to offer, with more power, more toys, a hefty price tag and a debut in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month.

Peter Arcadipane has joined BAIC as its new design director. Based at its new hi-tech design facility in Beijing, China, he oversees a team of around 130 designers. The Australian designer, formerly of Mercedes-Benz, has been challenged to steer state-owned BAIC towards a more coherent and strategic position within China, with its chairman wanting to take the carmaker more upmarket.
