Nos Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Right Side Wheel Flare Original Molded In Silver on 2040-parts.com

Condition:New Placement on Vehicle:Right, Front Manufacturer Part Number:498399 Brand:GM Pontiac

You are bidding on a true New Old Stock GM Pontiac made right front wheel opening spoiler - flare molded in silver metallic for all 1975 to 1978 Trans Ams.  This is NOT the more common molded in gray spoiler that GM used as replacements for many years, but was made specifically to replace 1975 to 1977 Sterling Silver and is a close match to 1978 Platinum Silver.  The original part number is 498399.  This has a date of 1980 on the box, and has been in my dry storage ever since.  The welting is still flexible and attached.

The box is ugly but original and will be included if you want it.

Of course this will fit all 1970 to 1978 Firebirds, only the color is specific to 1975 - 1978.

Due to sitting untouched in the box for 36 years, the top tip at the staple did crack off.  I used a plastic weld system to reattach the piece and backed that up with some 2 - stage epoxy.  You can see close-up pics of this.
Again, this is true NOS, never used.
This is a No Reserve auction, so if you bid, you win!

Still, the unveil of the ‘new’ sawn-off variant was one of the few Detroit surprises not known about beforehand, and offers an enticing glimpse of how the LF-A franchise could develop. Beyond the lack of a roof, the basic body shape is the same as the now-familiar LF-A coupe first unveiled at the 2005 Detroit show.
