THERE’S no getting away from the fact that Le Mans is a big deal for Audi. The German car maker has dominated the famous endurance race in recent years, and to reinforce the event’s importance the launch of its 2014 car was a little unconventional. The Le Mans circuit is unusual in that, for most of the year, part of it is a public road.

Still, we have a soft-spot for the big Yank-Tank that is the Jeep Grand Cherokee so we’ll put that statement down to nothing more than a bit of PR hubris, rather than a genuine claim. Much of what we know already about the new Grand Cherokee since it was revealed over a year ago remains unchanged with its arrival in the UK.

Volkaswagen has revealed the 2010 VW Sharan at the Geneva Motor Show Last week we reported on VW’s little German tease of the 2010 Sharan on the VW web site in Germany, coyly showing just a partial front end and one wheel. But a week on there’s no such reticence with a full reveal of VW’s big people carrier at Geneva. The last generation of the Sharan shared a platform with Ford’s Galaxy, but the 2010 Volkswagen Sharan is a purely VW venture -based as it is on VW’s flexible MQB platform – and comes complete with the standard fashion accessory for a people carrier of sliding rear doors, and a more flexible seven-seat layout.
