ITEM DESCRIPTION

This is a lightly used Ockam 028 NMEA depth interface that was installed at the navstation of a lovely 60' yachtI purchased this, and the whole lot of used equipment, from the owner here locally.  I was told that the gear was recently professionally uninstalled during a refit on his boat and that everything works perfectly.  I have many of the selector cards but will be selling them separately, this auction does not come with any selector cards.  If you need a specific one ask and I may be able to include it in for a small fee.

MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION

The Model 028B interface supplies the Ockam system with depth information from any depth sounder which outputs the NMEA-0183 DBS, DBT or DBK sentences. The system calculates depth below surface (for navigation) and depth below keel (for piloting) and distributes it to the Ockam displays and connected software. The primary purpose of this distribution is to get the information to those who want it, when they want it, without having to spend bulkhead space on specialized depth repeaters.

If the depth transducer outputs temperature, that data can be displayed as well.

Detroit Electric delays SP:01 again

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Detroit Electric, the new startup with an old name, said it is delaying production because it hasn't secured a lease or purchase agreement for its manufacturing facility in Plymouth, Mich. It is also talking to some new partners, though the company declined to name them. North American president Don Graunstadt told the Detroit News, “To further elaborate at this juncture is, unfortunately, not possible as Detroit Electric have entered into negotiations with other parties that have the potential to impact our business strategy and timing,” Graunstadt said.

Europe's road train technology ready for testing

Wed, 24 Nov 2010

Work is accelerating at Europe's project to let clusters of cars drive together in convoy on motorways - with no input from the driver. The so-called Sartre project today issued a new video showing how its work is developing. Ah, that'll be the Europe-wide Sartre road safety project. It stands for Safe Road Trains for the Environment and is part-funded by the European Commission.

17,000 solar panels to power Toyota’s Derbyshire plant

Mon, 06 Jun 2011

Toyota’s manufacturing plant at Burnaston in Derbyshire, where the Auris and Avensis are built, will install the biggest solar panel system yet seen in a UK car plant.  British Gas, which will stump up the £10 million cost of installing the solar panels, and Toyota are working together to save 2000 tonnes of CO2 emissions a year. Once the solar panels are installed, they claim it will save enough energy to build approximately 7000 cars a year.
