Vauxhall Adam Rocks (2014) first official pictures
Wed, 19 Feb 2014By Ollie Kew First Official Pictures 19 February 2014 14:00 The new Vauxhall Adam Rocks is surely one of the most bizarre new car niches to wing its way to this year’s Geneva motor show. To create this supermini crossover, Vauxhall has raised the ride height of the Adam city car by 15mm, fitted workmanlike plastic body cladding – and taken a tin-opener to the roof. We already know plenty about the 2012 Civic, from its new suspension and dynamics – tuned to UK roads, no less – to the improved engines with better economy and lower emissions, thanks to an endless tease from Honda, but one which was at least informative. And now we get to the meat of the new Civic, with UK prices, models and specifications revealed.
SAE approves new fast-charging standard for EVs, plug-ins
Tue, 16 Oct 2012SAE International said it has approved a new technical standard that will dramatically reduce charging times for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and electric vehicles. The global engineering group said the new charging standard, developed with the cooperation of more than 190 automakers, utilities and equipment builders, will allow charging times to be reduced from as long as eight hours to as short as 20 minutes. Automakers want DC direct charging to take less than 10 minutes, or roughly the time it takes to fill a tank with gasoline. The goal is to accommodate currents as high as 500 volts distributed from public charging stations.
