On Friday morning, Ford CEO Alan Mulally made a historic third keynote speech, during which he introduced the new Focus Electric and a host of new supporting technologies, which appear to keep Ford near the top of the technological pack. New Audi A8 Hybrid at Frankfurt – on sale in 2012

2012 Audi A8 Hybrid arrives at Frankfurt Audi turned up at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012 – just a few months after the launch of the New A8 – with a fully-featured concept of an Audi A8 Hybrid. At the time we expected them to roll out the A8 with hybrid gubbins by the end of 201, but that didn’t happen. Now, Audi are bringing the A8 Hybrid to the Frankfurt Motor Show next month in full production guise, ready to go on sale in 2012.

Nissan teams up with Williams for sporty Nismo cars from 2014

Nissan’s performance car skunkworks arm Nismo (short for Nissan Motorsports) has agreed a deal with Williams Advanced Engineering to co-develop faster versions of Nissan’s road cars from 2014. It doesn’t mean the Williams F1 team will be developing the forthcoming Nismo version of the GT-R, but the Formula One team and Williams Advanced Engineering are part of the same group founded by Sir Frank Williams. Sir Frank said: ‘Williams Advanced Engineering has a history of developing world class, high-performance products and this agreement is particularly exciting because of the ambition and potential of the Nismo brand.
