Fresh from a barn in Maine. I'm back from a summer of buying more original equipment Harley Davidson parts so be sure to keep checking back. This is an original Harley Davidson 1949 to 1965 Panheads and the 1966 Shovelheads front drum brake assembly that is very complete. The following casting numbers are marked on the Brake drum and the aluminum backing plate. Drum cast # 44110-49, P/N 44111-48 and the backing plate cast # 44139-49, P/N 44141-50. This is a brake unit that mounts on the left side of the forks. This is complete with all working parts. I have also now located the correct front axel for this brake and that is also included. Also not seen in the pictures is the correct axel spacer for the brake. The backing plate is not damaged, the aluminum is in good condition and will polish up nicely if that is desired or run it like it is for correct patina. The threads on the cable hole are good. No curb hits or road rash showing on the piece. The fork pin is not bent or damaged. The brake drum is in very good original condition and still has the original hub bolts included. There are no score or rivet marks on the shoe surface. The surface rust should clean off nicely and there are no rust pitted areas on this drum. The brake shoes are original equipment units with riveted pads for easy replacement if desired. The original pads still have good thickness on them. The arm onto which the brake cable attaches behind the brake shoes is complete and does not appear damaged in any way. The springs and axel spacer are included. Corvette ZR1 'Blue Devil' freed from sinkhole

Workers at the National Corvette Museum have begun removing eight cars from the bottom of a sinkhole that appeared inside the museum's Skydome last month. The first car to make it back to ground level is the 2009 Corvette ZR1 prototype nicknamed "Blue Devil." Incredibly, the ZR1 reportedly cranked right up and even made it to the doorway of the Skydome under its own power.
General Motors spending $131 million to upgrade Corvette plant
Wed, 04 May 2011General Motors is spending $131 million on its Bowling Green, Ky., assembly plant to prepare it to build the next-generation Corvette. The plant will spend the money on manufacturing equipment, specialized tooling and plant updates, said Mark Reuss, GM's president of North America. The plant will add about 250 jobs, which will boost its workforce by about 50 percent, to about 750 workers.
Volkswagen OKs production of the Bugatti 16C Galibier, report says
Fri, 01 Apr 2011Volkswagen AG has agreed to fund production of the Bugatti 16C Galibier sedan, Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing two unnamed sources that had knowledge of the project. The 16C Galibier would join the Veyron sports car in Bugatti's lineup. But Galibier production may not start for two to three years while Bugatti retools its boutique manufacturing plant in Molsheim, France.
