BMW M5 30th Anniversary Edition (2014) first official pictures

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 07 May 2014 15:02 BMW is marking the 30th anniversary of the M5 by building the most powerful ever version of its legendary super-saloon. The BMW M5 ‘30 Jahre M5’ has an extra 39bhp from a tweaked version of its 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, plus there’s a smattering of special trim and anniversary badging, and just 300 will be built. Apparently ‘this power boost has been achieved through carefully calculated tweaks to the engine management and an increase in charge pressure’.

AMG and Ducati join forces

The AMG Ducatti Partnership - or is it more? We didn’t see this coming, we must admit. And at first glance we really don’t really see the synergy. Mercedes AMG are to join up with Italian superbike makers Ducatti to acess new customer groups and get involved in joint marketing and sponsoring.

Last week the world got a glimpse of Ukrainian ex-president Viktor Yanukovych's surprisingly eclectic car collection, which included dozens of cars that have never been exhibited in any museum or classic car show outside the former USSR. The sprawling garage at the Mezhyhirya villa became public only last weekend, hours after Yanukovych's nighttime escape by helicopter to Russia. Hundreds of ordinary citizens and journalists from all around the world strode freely into the villa, finding an abundance of abandoned wealth, some of which was even tasteful.
