Chevrolet at the Paris motor show 2008
Thu, 02 Oct 2008By Guy Bird Motor Shows 02 October 2008 18:40 General Motors’ Chevrolet stand was buzzing at Paris with two world debuts – the Chevrolet Cruze production saloon and Chevrolet Orlando seven-seater show car – plus two important European production unveils: the electric Volt and Camaro muscle car. All Chevrolets from now on will be global models and reflect a new ambition for quality, as GM’s global vice president of design Ed Welburn told CAR. 'Chevrolet is raising the bar where it matters the most – in the value segment.' The Cruze is a Skoda Octavia-sized four-door on the new Astra platform with reasonable exterior styling and a genuinely high standard of interior fit and finish.
Hyundai Genesis (2008): First official pictures
Wed, 16 Jan 2008By Stephen Dobie First Official Pictures 16 January 2008 18:30 It’s not coming to the UK, but it doesn’t mean that Hyundai won’t crow about it. This is the Genesis, the Korean company’s latest attack on the premium brands, and designed to make us forget about previous attempts like the XG30. But concurrently it’s also because of the Genesis’ predecessors that we won’t get the new car.
MINI Clubvan AXED in the US after just 50 sales
Thu, 18 Jul 2013The MINI Clubvan (pictured) has been axed in the US after just 50 sales The MINi Clubvan – a van version of the Clubman – arrived in 2012 as a concept and instantly evoked fond memories of the original Mini van that used to roam UK roads with the black and yellow livery of the AA. By the time the new MINi Clubvan arrived as a production model last summer – and debuted at the 2012 Goodwood FoS – it had changed little from the concept, but looked set for success as a funky little local delivery vehicle. And it does seem as though the Clubvan is selling quite well, with florists and posh food delivery firms jumping on the Clubvan as a great way to move their product to customers, and look just that bit different in the process.
