The most recent advance in vehicle safety has to be the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) – a sophisticated suite of sensors and electronics that monitors objects in front of your car, automatically applying the brakes for you if it senses you’re heading to hit something. Up until now these auto-brake features have not been rated, but ahead of a new 2014 test that will include AEB systems in its overall safety star scoring, Euro NCAP has put the some of the vehicles already equipped with this technology through their paces. GM greenlights Chevy Spark, Orlando for production

Two more fuel-sipping Chevrolets will be coming to North America in 2011. The Chevy Beat concept is now called the Spark, and along with the Orlando multi-purpose vehicle, has been greenlighted for production. They will be sold around the world, including in the United States.

GM won't show new cars in LA

GM has delayed the unveiling of two new cars the company had intended to show the press and public at the forthcoming Los Angeles auto show. The largest US automaker will now show the production versions of the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac CTS coupe at the Detroit auto show in January instead. "We believe we can better capitalize in Detroit" said spokesman Scott Fosgard.
