Morgan celebrates 100 years – and a new model

There aren’t many car makers around the world who have been in business for 100 years, and even fewer that have remained in the same family for all that time. But Morgan, that maker of anachronistic 1930s-style cars, is not only still going strong, it is celebrating its 100 year anniversary in 2009, and is now the only remaining British-owned car maker in existence (aside from the ‘Garden-Shed’ makers). Schools Award and CDN Design Schools League Table

Schools as well as students are being recognized in this year's CDN-Interior Motives Student Design Awards, just launched, with a special award being introduced for the school whose students have the most success in the competition. CDN acknowledges that great teaching, as well as raw student talent, is needed to shape the work of the next generation of car designers. So along with the student finalists in 2012 will come finalist schools, as measured by the success of their students in getting to the shortlist stage of the competition, in becoming category finalists, or in winning an award or becoming overall winner.

Iacocca shows off his custom 45th-anniversary Mustang

The man behind the original Mustang--Lee Iacocca--is back with a custom-built 2009 version that celebrates 45 years of the iconic pony car. Iacocca unveiled a sleek, performance 'Stang named after himself, the Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition. It's available through Galpin Ford in Southern California and will be limited to 45 copies.
