The Michelin Challenge Design Jury met in July at Art Center College of Design and selected the designs that will be displayed next January at the 2009 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at the Cobo Center in Detroit. The entrants were challenged to create vehicles in support of the central theme ‘BRAVE+BOLD'; America's Next Iconic Vehicle. The designs were evaluated for uniqueness, emotional appeal, design courage and technical execution.

Citroen will show a 'concept' version of the DS3 Cabrio Racing at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed – though it looks all but production ready to us. The DS3R Cabrio uses the same 202bhp 1.6-litre engine as the DS3R hot hatch, but weighs an extra 25kg thanks to the folding rood conversion. Ford invents agile, low-cost solution for prototyping, customization and limited production [w/video]

A new metal forming technique pioneered by Ford that drastically reduces the time and cost of producing low-volume and one-off body parts may lead to cost-effective customization, redesigns, one-offs and limited production runs. Ford Freeform Fabrication Technology (F3T) forms sheets of metal by two stylus-like tools, one on each side of the surface. Using CAD data they form the part to the exacting strength and finish tolerances usually associated with stamping dies.
