It keeps the same Audi-sourced 3.0 litre V6 petrol engine as the outgoing hybrid, which has 328bhp and 325lb/ft of torque, and mates it to a new electric motor delivering 94bhp for a total of 410bhp and 434lb/ft of torque.

Mitsubishi will show another iteration of its sporty micro-size electric car with the debut of the i MiEV Sport Air concept at the Geneva motor show in March. Building on the i MiEV Sport, which we first saw at the Tokyo motor show in 2007, Mitsubishi adds a clear removable roof and slight alterations to the front fascia. A lithium-ion battery powers three magnetic synchronous motors--one in each front wheel and one to drive both rear wheels--with an all-wheel control system managing stability and traction control, and ABS for optimal stability and performance.
